Two very energising and inspiring talks by #CathyMcGowan and #AdamDavids last night at the #NationalMuseumofAustralia.
Cathy spoke from her experience as an independent MP and Adam, as an indigenous man and Fullbright Scholar working to increase Aboriginal inclusion on Boards and executive roles in the Corporate sector.
The focus was on the need to build networks and engage in communities to achieve progress towards solutions to key issues Australia is facing; effective action on climate change, establishing The Voice to Parliament, and the tackling the housing crisis.
The take home message is, we can't wait for governments to fix the problems. The citizenry - vocal, engaged, active and taking various leadership roles - can bring about change and shape the political agenda.
