Minimax S45 Bandsaw Manual
The Minimax S45 is a professional band saw for woodworkers and craftsmen workshops. It is made by SCM Group, a leading manufacturer of woodworking machinery in Italy. The Minimax S45 has a 2.5 hp motor, a 450 mm cast iron wheel diameter, and a 300 mm maximum cutting height. It can perform straight and tilted cuts on wood, plastic, and aluminum with high precision and quality.
Features of the Minimax S45
Cast iron saw wheels: The saw wheels are very thick and solid, ensuring stability and durability. They run on sealed ball bearings for smooth operation.
Blade guide: The blade guide is located on the top and bottom of the blade, ensuring accurate and consistent cuts. The blade guide can be adjusted to accommodate different blade widths from 6 to 25 mm.
Worktable: The worktable is made of cast iron and has a size of 520 x 600 mm. It can be tilted from 0 to 45 degrees (or 20 degrees for CE models) for angled cuts.
Fence: The fence is made of aluminum and has a length of 600 mm. It can be locked in position with a lever and has a scale for measuring the distance from the blade.
Protection: The machine has telescopic protections with rackwork to cover the blade and prevent accidents. It also has an emergency stop button and a safety switch to prevent unauthorized use.

Before using the machine, make sure it is connected to a suitable power source and grounded properly. Also, check the condition of the blade and the tension of the belt.
To change the blade, loosen the tension knob on the top of the machine and remove the blade guard. Then, remove the old blade and insert the new one, making sure it is aligned with the center of the wheels. Tighten the tension knob until the blade is taut and secure.
To adjust the blade guide, loosen the locking knobs on the side of the guide and move it up or down until it is close to the blade without touching it. Then, tighten the locking knobs to fix it in place.
To set the worktable angle, loosen the locking lever under the table and tilt it to the desired angle. Use the scale on the side of the table to check the angle. Then, tighten the locking lever to secure it.
To set the fence position, loosen the locking lever on the fence and slide it along the rail until it reaches the desired distance from the blade. Use the scale on the fence to measure the distance. Then, tighten the locking lever to lock it in place.
To start the machine, press the green button on the front panel. To stop it, press the red button or pull the emergency stop button.
To make a cut, feed the workpiece into the blade with a steady and even pressure. Do not force or twist the workpiece as this may cause damage or injury. Use push sticks or hold-downs when cutting small or thin pieces.
After using the machine, turn it off and disconnect it from the power source. Clean any dust or debris from the machine and lubricate any moving parts as needed.
